A group of scholars and creative figures from Khujand city, Republic of Tajikistan, visited Samarkand State University. The delegation included Farzona Khujandi, People’s Poetess of the Republic of Tajikistan; Ghaffor Jo‘rayev, a renowned artist; and over ten professors, lecturers, researchers, and doctoral students from Khujand State University. A warm discussion was held with the delegation from the fraternal country at the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Central Asian Peoples.

The meeting was opened by the Institute's Director, Jo‘liboy Eltazarov, who expressed pleasure at the guests’ visit. During the friendly encounter, professors Matluba Khojayeva, Zamira Ghafurva, Umida Ghafurva, and Nurullo G‘iyosov from Khujand State University spoke, emphasizing the rapid development of scientific and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and highlighting the contributions of the Samarkand and Khujand State University teams in this regard.

Farzona Khujandi, People's Poetess of Tajikistan, delivered a warm and moving speech about ancient and vibrant Samarkand and our country, reciting her poems celebrating the friendship between the two nations. The guests presented over fifty books and commemorative gifts to the library of the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Central Asian Peoples. In turn, the institute’s students further delighted the guests by reading excerpts from the works of poetess Farzona Khujandi.
