Achievements and Scientific Activities of Talented Students at Samarkand State University
At Sharof Rashidov Samarkand State University, talented students are selected every academic year and assigned scientific supervisors. Currently, more than 1,500 students are engaged in research activities. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 958 students were recognized as gifted, and their research topics were approved.
The results of their work are regularly discussed at seminars, department meetings, and faculty councils, and are published in scientific journals. Special groups and additional classes have been organized for talented students.
Activities of the “Youth Academy”
In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (August 8, 2023, №349), a Youth Academy has been established at the university. The leader of the university’s Youth Academy is Otabek Esanov, a 2nd-year master’s student of the Faculty of Intellectual Systems and Computer Technologies, holder of the “Leader of Innovative Ideas” badge.
Achievements in Olympiads and Competitions
- In November 2024, SamSU students won 1 gold and 2 silver medals at an international Olympiad in Turkmenistan.
- 8 students of the Faculty of Geography and Ecology became winners of the ecological Olympiad organized by RUDN University (Russia).
- At the international Olympiad of Tomsk State University, 3 students won prizes and were recommended for early admission to the master’s program.
- In October 2023, SamSU’s team took 1st place at the II International Mathematics Olympiad named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi in Nukus.
Scholarship Achievements
- 1 student – Presidential Scholarship of Uzbekistan,
- 10 students – Alisher Navoi State Scholarship,
- 2 students – Ulughbek State Scholarship,
- 1 student – Islam Karimov State Scholarship.
