Achievements and Scientific Activities of Talented Students at Samarkand State University

At Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, talented students are selected annually and assigned scientific supervisors. Currently, more than 1,500 students are involved in research and development activities.

The activities of these talented students are regularly discussed at scientific seminars, department meetings, and faculty academic councils, with results being published in scientific journals. Additionally, special study groups and extra-curricular classes have been established.

Activities of the “Youth Academy”

In accordance with Order No. 349 of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 8, 2023, a “Youth Academy” was established at the university. Komila Elmurod qizi Bebitova, a 2nd-year Master’s student at the Institute of Biochemistry and winner of the “Mirzo Ulugbek’s Successors” national competition, was elected as the university leader of the Academy. Leaders were also appointed for each institute and faculty. Under their initiative, promotional work is being carried out to engage students in scientific activities and ensure their participation in national and international competitions.

Achievements in Science Olympiads and Competitions

University students regularly participate in various science Olympiads and competitions.

• In April 2025, at the OMOUS-2025 International Mathematics Olympiad held in Turkmenistan, students won 1 gold and 1 bronze medal.

• At the 2nd International Student Olympiad organized by the Eurasian Network University in Russia, 3 students emerged as winners and received recommendations for early admission to Master’s programs.

• Six talented students from the Institute of Engineering Physics successfully participated in the IV Open Theoretical Mechanics Olympiad in Turkmenistan, earning special certificates from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

• In May 2025, at the national stage of the “Mirzo Ulugbek’s Successors” competition, organized by the Ulugbek Foundation for Supporting Talented Youth, Shaxzod Saxobiddin o‘g‘li Rahmonov (4th-year student, Faculty of Intelligent Systems and Computer Technologies) and Nigora Rustamovna Mirzayeva (2nd-year student, Institute of Biochemistry) were declared winners.

• In June 2025, Munisa Rajabova, a student at the Institute of Biochemistry, took 2nd place in the National Chemistry Olympiad and secured admission to a Master’s program.

The university hosts 58 scientific and 12 specialized subject clubs, involving more than 2,000 talented young people.

Scholarship Awards Results

University students achieved outstanding results in the competitions for the State Scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and those named after Navoiy, Ulugbek, Babur, and Islam Karimov:

• 1 student – Presidential State Scholarship;

• 3 students – Navoiy State Scholarship;

• 1 student – Ulugbek State Scholarship;

• 1 student – Babur State Scholarship;

• 1 student – Islam Karimov State Scholarship;

• 2 students – Academician Qori Niyoziy Scholarship;

• 1 student – University Scholarship named after Academician Botirkhon Valikhodjayev;

• 1 student – University Scholarship named after Academician Vohid Abdullayev;

• 1 student – University Scholarship named after Academician Akbar Otakhodjayev;

• 2 students – Recipients of the University Scholarship named after Nobel Laureate Aziz Sancar.

In July 2025, at the SIMO-2025 International Mathematics Olympiad, university students won 1 bronze medal.
