ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

The Institute of Human Resources and Community Development commenced its operations within Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov in accordance with Resolution No. 12/8-32 of the Cabinet of Ministers, dated July 3, 2023. The foundation of the institute was laid in 1992 at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of SamSU by Professor H. To’rayev and Professor K. Saidov. In the same year, the faculty began admitting students to the "Organization and Management of Production" program. As admission quotas increased over the years, the departments of Labor Economics and Sociology, Internal and External Tourism Management, and Theoretical Economics were established. Following the Rector's order on August 15, 1997, the Faculty of Economics was officially inaugurated.

Currently, the Institute comprises the departments of Sectoral Economics, Human Resource Management, and Digital Economics. These departments provide undergraduate (Bachelor's) instruction in several fields: Economics (by sectors), Digital Economics (by sectors), Banking, Agribusiness and Investment Activities, and Human Resource Management.

The Institute primarily focuses on training highly qualified young specialists. Along with the growth of academic potential, Master’s and Doctoral (PhD) programs have been established in Economic Theory, Labor Economics and Sociology, Management, Human Resource Management, and Digital Economics.

Today, the "Human Resource Management" Research Center operates under the Institute. The Center organizes annual international and national scientific-practical conferences and professional development courses, while also executing industrial and research grant contracts. The Center has established the electronic journal "Human Capital and Social Development," which is recognized by the Supreme Attestation Commission (OAK).

In 2023, the Institute established partnerships with numerous high-ranking global universities, including Yeungnam University (South Korea), Xi'an Jiaotong University (China), the University of Rostock (Germany), the Hanns Seidel Foundation (Germany), Soka University (Japan), the Higher School of Business (Russia), Tomsk State University (Russia), and Russian University named after G.V.Plekhanov of Economics (Russia).
