UNITY OF CULTURES – UNITY OF NATIONS
A delegation led by Jeong Eui-Rim, CEO of the “Art Bridge 27” organization located in Gwangju, Republic of Korea, visited Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov. The distinguished guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Akmal Ahadov, along with university officials. The meeting was also attended by Zarifa Muminova, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Socio-Political Sciences; Shahzoda Ahmedova, Deputy Dean; and activists from the university's Korean Culture Center.
During the visit, the parties discussed establishing cooperation, developing and implementing joint projects, as well as several key issues in the field of art history and criticism. Specifically, they exchanged views on modern art trends – new traditions, creative approaches, and innovative styles in Korean and Uzbek art – as well as methodologies for teaching art history in higher education and organizing practical training based on academic curricula.
Proposals were made during the meeting to promote cultural and academic exchange, organize art and educational exhibitions, and launch seminars and masterclasses. The prospects for ensuring harmony between traditional and modern art, developing national artistic traditions in contemporary forms, and organizing future joint art projects, international festivals, and exhibitions were also discussed.
Furthermore, within the framework of implementing the “Media Art” project between “Art Bridge 27” and the university, the parties considered organizing training programs, involving qualified mentors, and establishing the effective use of modern technologies and software tools.
During the visit, the guests became closely acquainted with the academic potential of Samarkand State University, its international cooperation activities, and the functions of the Korean Culture Center established at the university. At the conclusion of the trip, the guests noted that they were deeply impressed and expressed their desire to further strengthen bilateral relations in the future.
This visit will undoubtedly serve to strengthen scientific and creative ties and define new directions for cooperation in the field of art history and criticism.
