Samarkand State University signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei in Uzbekistan aimed at cooperation in supporting talented youth in the digital age.

    On the eve of the SCO summit, the director of Huawei in Uzbekistan, Chen Xiakai, visited Samarkand State University and held a meeting with the university leadership, headed by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Akmal Akhatov. At the meeting, SamSU representatives exchanged views on ongoing projects in the field of higher education, as well as on the success of international cooperation with companies and universities from various countries, such as China, Germany, Israel, Spain, Italy, Turkey.

    “We are pleased to welcome the leadership of the Huawei representative office in Uzbekistan in Samarkand today on the eve of one of the major regional events, such as the SCO summit,” said Akmal Akhatov, Vice-Rector of SamSU. - Samarkand State University has a long history and is constantly striving for innovation and digital development. I believe that the partnership with Huawei will make a worthy contribution to the further involvement of young people in the study of ICT technologies and the strengthening of the country's digital workforce.

    -Recognizing the importance of developing cooperation to strengthen the country's digital ecosystem, we should pay more attention to supporting and developing the digital skills of young people who seek new knowledge in the field of ICT and IT. - says Chen Xiakai, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan. - Today, on the eve of the summit of the heads of SCO member states, I am glad to be at Samarkand State University. It can be seen that a lot of work has been done here in preparation for the event. In turn, we also seek to contribute to the digital development of the city by considering the installation and launch of fifth generation networks in cooperation with local telecom operators.

    It should be noted that the main areas of this cooperation are the implementation of educational projects based on the “Seed for the Future” curriculum in cooperation with the Huawei ICT Academy, as well as exploring the possibilities of introducing digital solutions into the activities of the university, including the introduction of renewable energy sources.
