Independent learning implies an orientation towards active methods of learning, the development of students' creative abilities, the transition from innovative learning to individualized, considering the needs and capabilities of the individual. At the same time, not only hours of self-study are increased, but unbalanced subjects are also excluded from the curriculum. Practice hours will be increased. Today, practical work in this area has already begun at Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov.

    The knowledge of 1st year students of the Faculty of Philology of Samarkand State University was tested on independent educational tasks in the subject of analytical reading.

    It assessed such criteria as the development, correctness and quality of students' fulfillment of independent educational tasks, a scientific and creative approach to consolidating knowledge in the subject.
