Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov together with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Geographical Society of Uzbekistan, the Russian Society of Geographers (ARGO), the Osh State University of Kyrgyzstan ". The conference was attended by more than 80 scientists with more than 100 abstracts and articles.

    The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Samarkand State University Ahmadjon Soleyev, who wished the conference success.

    The purpose of the conference is to discuss the experience, current problems and prospects of geographical research on the sustainable development of transboundary territories in the Republic of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries of Central Asia and other foreign countries. It is also planned to further develop international cooperation in the field of geographical research, attract talented young scientists to promising areas of mutual exchange, as well as search for solutions to transboundary environmental problems at the international level.

    For reference, the conference was attended by about 30 professors from about 10 foreign countries: Russia, China, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova.
