At the Institute of Languages and Culture of Central Asian Peoples of Samarkand State University, a memorial evening dedicated to the life and work of Professor Hotam Umurov – Distinguished Youth Mentor of the Republic of Uzbekistan – and a presentation of his book “Selected Works” (“Saylanma”) were held in observance of “May 9 – Day of Memory and Appreciation”.

The event was opened by the Rector of the university, Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan and member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rustam Khalmuradov. He spoke highly of the professor’s significant contribution to the development of science, his pedagogical career, and his role in educating the younger generation.

During the event, Professor Hotam Umurov’s rich scientific heritage, life path, and selfless labor were remembered, with colleagues and students sharing heartfelt reflections. The book “Selected Works” was recognized as a vital resource highlighting the scientist’s academic and creative endeavors.

Sincere thoughts regarding his human qualities, care for his students, and contributions to literature were also expressed by Professor Jo‘liboy Eltazarov (Director of the Institute of Languages and Culture of Central Asian Peoples), Professor Shavkat Hasanov, and the professor’s daughter, Professor Guzal Umurova.
