On November 4, 2025, the prestigious international rating agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds announced the ranking of the best universities in Asia – the “QS Asia University Rankings 2026”. More than 20 higher education institutions from Uzbekistan were included in this list (https://www.topuniversities.com/asia-university-rankings?countries=uz ). It should be noted that 8 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan improved their positions compared to last year’s results.

The ranking results confirm the practical outcomes of the reforms being implemented in our country’s higher education system and the efforts to expand international cooperation.

Notably, according to the evaluation results, Samarkand State University ranked 307th among the best universities in Asia and 5th in Uzbekistan in this ranking (https://www.topuniversities.com/asia-university-rankings).

For reference, this international ranking included over 1500 universities from 25 countries and regions in Asia, with 557 of them being listed for the first time. The ranking criteria are based on scientific potential, international reputation, graduate employment rate, quality indicators of the educational process, and international cooperation activities.
