On October 7, 2025, a delegation from Samara University (Russian Federation) headed by Rector Vladimir Bogatyryov visited Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov.

The distinguished guests were welcomed by Rustam Khalmuradov, Rector of Samarkand State University, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. During the meeting, the parties held an in-depth discussion on expanding cooperation and implementing joint projects based on modern achievements in science and technology.

The two sides exchanged views on strengthening collaboration in educational fields such as engineering physics, aeronautics, astronomy, physics, computer technologies, artificial intelligence, and mathematics, as well as in agriculture. The discussion focused on developing and implementing joint scientific research projects in these areas.

During the meeting, the rectors also discussed reforms in the education system, the organization of seasonal schools, the establishment of exchange programs for master’s and doctoral students in various fields, as well as short-term student exchanges and internships for professors and lecturers.

An initiative was proposed to establish a Center for Applied Space Research at Samarkand State University. In addition, it was emphasized that specialists from Samarkand University should visit Samara University to exchange experience and implement joint scientific projects in the field of agrobiotechnology.

At the conclusion of the visit, Samara University Rector Vladimir Bogatyryov praised the scientific potential, international cooperation, and high quality of education at Samarkand State University, expressing his intention to further strengthen bilateral relations in the future.
