SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
On October 3, 2025, a scientific-practical conference on the theme “Chemistry of SMART Materials and Prospects for their Development in the Uzbek Economy” began at Samarkand State University.
The main goal of the conference is to discuss scientific and technical achievements in the field of SMART materials, identify opportunities for their application in sectors of the national economy, and create new platforms for young scientists and startups. SMART materials are currently widely used in medicine, information technology, the production of modern electronic equipment, solving environmental problems, and many other areas.

The scientific-practical conference was opened with an introductory speech by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work of Samarkand State University, Professor Subhon Abbosov. He specifically emphasized the importance of scientific research and nanotechnology in economic development, the activity of young scientists in this regard, and the significance of international scientific cooperation.
The plenary session of the conference began with an online lecture by Sharof Tugizov, Professor at the University of San Francisco, affiliated with the California Department of Health Services, USA, on the topic “Silver nanoparticles bound with anti-HIV IgG neutralize intravesicular HIV-1 in macrophages and epithelial cells”.
Following this, scientific analytical reports were heard from Aleksey Buryak, Correspondent Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and researcher at the A. Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, on “Sorption Materials and Their Application in Chromatography”; Yuriy Galyametdinov, Professor at Kazan National Research Technological University of the Russian Federation, on “Properties and Synthesis of Certain Optical Nanomaterials”; as well as reports dedicated to solving industry problems from Olimjon Ro'zimurodov, Professor at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent; Abdushukur Sarimsoqov, Professor at the Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and Nurali Muhammadiev, Professor at SamDU.
The international scientific conference will continue its work tomorrow
