A delegation led by Lin Ying, Chairman of the Party Committee of China's Liaoning Normal University, visited Samarkand State University.

    The distinguished guests were met by the rector of Samarkand State University, a scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rustam Khalmuradov.

    The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Otabek Mahkamov. The scientific potential of Liaoning University, its current capabilities, and plans to establish joint laboratories in cooperation between the two higher educational institutions were discussed.

    In turn, the rector of SamSU Rustam Khalmuradov noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is expanding in the scientific field. The need for joint study of urgent problems of Central Asia, use of water resources and management of water flows, and improving the quality of education in agricultural and technical and technological areas was highlighted.

    The parties also paid attention to the issues of analyzing the influence of Western culture on the spiritual and educational spheres, strengthening cooperation in the areas of socio-political and technical and technological development, and establishing joint programs at the master's and doctoral levels in the fields of psychology and geography.

    At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the ideas and proposals expressed would yield practical results.
