On 19 June, QS, one of the three most prestigious international rating agencies in higher education, announced the results of the QS World University Rankings 2026. According to these results, Samarkand State University entered this global ranking for the first time, achieving a place in the 1001-1200 range.

    This result is a huge step towards the implementation of the task set by the President of our country, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in the Decree of January 13, 2022, "Introducing the university into the top 1000 in the ranking of higher educational institutions of internationally recognized organizations by 2026".

    Samarkand State University has recorded positive results in several key indicators in this year's ranking:

  • The ratio of the number of faculty and students (Faculty Student Ratio): the university ranked 494th in this indicator.
  • He ranked 534th in the Academic Reputation indicator.
  • 651st place was obtained in the International faculty ratio.
  • Reputation among employers (Employer reputation): in this direction, the university ranked 701.

    For information, 8,467 higher education institutions from 106 countries applied to participate in the QS World University Rankings 2026, of which 1,501 were included in the ranking. In particular, 7 universities from Uzbekistan were included in this ranking.

    When calculating the ratings, the QS rating agency analysed more than 19.8 million articles indexed in the Scopus database and approximately 200 million citations. The surveys conducted by the rating agency were completed by 1.5 million academic experts and more than 520 thousand employers.
