A delegation of representatives of 23 countries, led by Hua Liu, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visited Samarkand State University.

    The distinguished guests were accompanied by Sardorbek Yakubekov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Ibrohim Toshkenbayev, Director of the Scientific Center of this Committee.

    The guests first visited the Nuclear Physics Laboratory of SamSU and got acquainted with the activities of modern laboratories created with the help of IAEA grants.

    Rector of Samarkand State University, Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Khalmuradov held a meeting with the members of the delegation. The meeting discussed the introduction of modern nuclear technologies into science and production practice, expansion of cooperation, and the establishment of joint projects.

    For information: Scientists from Samarkand State University have been actively participating in IAEA projects since 2012. To date, the university has successfully implemented three grant projects and managed to allocate a total of 667 thousand euros to scientific research.
