An international competition was held in Shymkent in honor of the 70th anniversary of Enakhon Siddikov, the national poet of Uzbekistan, holder of the “El-Yurt Khurmati” and “Dustlik” orders on the theme “Let there be a book in your hand.”

     Mamura Masharipova, a student at the Faculty of Geography and Ecology at Samarkand State University, took 1st place in this competition.

     The competition was organized with the cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ethnocultural public associations of Uzbeks of Kazakhstan, the Dustlik society, the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, and the State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan.

     “About 300 students and schoolchildren from countries such as the USA, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey took part in this online competition,” says Mamura Masharipova. - The competition consisted of two conditions. The first condition is to prepare a video for the poet’s poem. I chose the poem “Kutlov”. In the second condition, we wrote an essay based on this poem. In the video, special attention was paid to every detail. Particular emphasis was placed on national costumes, stage culture, and expressive poetry reading. The essay took into account written literacy, free-thinking, and word combination.

     On the occasion of Mamura Masharipova’s victory, the Kazakh University named after Zhumabek Tashenev and the ethnocultural public association of Uzbeks of Kazakhstan “Dustlik” presented letters of gratitude to the rector of Samarkand State University, scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Khalmuradov and the dean of the Faculty of Geography and Ecology, Professor Subkhon Abbosov.
