The rectors of the universities Kangwon, Sungsil, Dongmyeon, Yongnam and Kukmin of South Korea visited Samarkand State University as part of the forum of rectors of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.

      Rector of Samarkand State University, scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Khalmuradov met with high-ranking officials. During the bilateral talks, important topics for the parties were discussed: expanding the exchange of students and teachers within the framework of promising cooperation in the fields of science, education and innovation.

     In particular, a memorandum was signed between SamSU and Kangwon University on the establishment of faculty and student exchange, the implementation of scientific projects in mutual cooperation, and the improvement of information and scientific publications.

      Joint study programs for students with Sungsil University, organization of Korean language courses, academic mobility between the two universities, joint study programs and summer schools with Tongmyong University, signed a development memorandum. The issues of developing cooperation in scientific projects with Yeongnam and Kookmin Universities, exchanging personnel in mutually beneficial academic areas, organizing joint educational programs for undergraduate and graduate programs were also agreed upon.

     “Today we arrived at Samarkand State University within the framework of the forum of rectors of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Korea,” says Byun Jun Kim, vice president of the Kukmin Institute of Strategic Management, “this forum is a new stage of cooperation in higher education for Korea and Uzbekistan. Our today's agreement with the rector of Samarkand State University was beneficial to both parties. The holding of this forum will pave the way for the digital transformation of higher education in both countries and will serve as an important factor in enhancing the exchange in the field of education and human resources.
