Samarkand State University named after Sharaf Rashidov was visited by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Manish Prabhat.

    The guests of honor were met by the rector of Samarkand State University, scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Khalmuradov.

    In the course of bilateral negotiations, proposals were put forward to establish ties with a number of Indian universities, expand cooperation in the field of training IT specialists, and further strengthen interaction. Agreements were also reached on the development of the tourism industry and research in the field of archeology.

    - To date, the department of international cooperation of Samarkand State University has established contacts with about 15 universities in India, - says the rector of SamSU, Rustam Khalmuradov. - Today, Indian scientists and professors work at a number of faculties and departments of our university. In particular, Prof. Ravinder Gargesh, Head of the Department of English, Prof. Mohd Nazish Khan, Director of the Transformation Center, and Kristo Anant, Professor of the Department of Natural Sciences and Exact Sciences. Thanks to the established relations between our countries, we are glad that Samarkand State University is in the top 1000 of the international ranking, that our scientists are working together to provide quality education to students based on new methodology, to conduct joint scientific research.

    - Samarkand has long been a center of science, - says Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Manish Prabhat, - I believe that these close ties between our countries, founded by Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, will continue. I think that our cooperation in science and education will open the door to great success and serve as a programmatic basis for the further development of the education system of the two countries.

    At the end of the meeting, Mr. Manish Prabhat presented Samarkand State University with a number of books on the history and geography of India.
