Impact of heavy metal pollution on the environment

Assistant of the Department of Analytical Chemistry of Samarkand State University Dilnavoz Khamrayeva conducts a scientific study on the topic "Creation of Ion-selective electrodes that determine the content of heavy metals." About 15 of her articles have been published in Republican and international publications.
“Today, the problem of environmental pollution with heavy metals is acute in the world,” says Dilnavoz Khamrayeva. - Therefore, today in science there are many physical and physico-chemical research methods that allow determining the ultramicro content of heavy metals, but these methods do not allow determining the exact amount of heavy metals. The study was aimed at monitoring the content of heavy metals, which are considered the main environmental pollutants worldwide. At the same time, special attention is paid to the creation of new ion-cellulite electrodes that replace expensive, toxic mercury electrodes made from environmentally friendly local raw materials, as well as to the identification of carcinogenic and toxic metals.
In scientific works devoted to the problems of environmental pollution and environmental monitoring, it is mentioned that a number of metals are harmful to nature and humans. Therefore, it is important to study and verify detailed information about the hazard class of metals. According to the noted results, many heavy metals have a negative impact directly on the human body and its normal functioning. In addition, the increased content of heavy metals in water in freshwater reservoirs is also a cause of drinking water pollution. The greatest environmental hazard is the problem of environmental pollution with heavy metals. Therefore, this study, aimed at determining the content of heavy metals, is important both for chemistry and for the protection of humans and the environment.
