Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov hosted an international scientific-practical conference “Issues of Torakul Zekhni and the Tajik language, literature and culture”, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of scientist-encyclopedist Turakul Zekhni.

    The event was attended by Deputy Khokim of Samarkand region Khurshid Ochilov, Rector of Samarkand State University, Professor, member of the Senate Rustam Kholmurodov, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Muhammad Abdurahmon Navruz, President of the Academy of Education Science and Technology of Tajikistan Salomiyon Muhammadovud, Director of the Institute of Language and Literature named after Abuabdulla Rudaki of the Academy of Sciences Boymurad Sharifzoda and representatives of the scientific community.

    The event was opened by Deputy hakim of Samarkand region Khurshid Ochilov, who wished the participants good luck.

    Rector of Samarkand State University Rustam Kholmurodov noted that the Uzbek-Tajik cooperation has reached a new level, and the conference is being held as a prospect of friendly relations between the two fraternal peoples.

    “Samarkand is an ancient center of science, education and spirituality in Central Asia,” said Muhammad Abdurahmon Navruz, vice president of the Tajik Academy of Sciences. - At today's conference, issues were discussed, such as the study of the scientific and literary heritage of the encyclopedist Torakul Zekhni, his propaganda among young people. We also agreed with Samarkand State University to organize the exchange of students and scientists in the coming years.

    The participants of the event spoke on such topics as "Problems of Turakul Zekhni and Tajik linguistics at the beginning of the 20th century", "Turakul Zekhni's role in art history", "Light of the heart and eye".
