Three students of Samarkand State University won 2 gold and 2 silver medals at the World Championship
On May 2, the World Weightlifting Championship started in Heraklion (Greece). The of Uzbekistan at the championship was defended by three students of Samarkand State University Ogabek Tukhtatev, Khodjiakbar Olimov and Sharofiddin Amriddinov.
On May 7, among men in the 89 kg weight category, Khodjiakbar Olimov won a silver medal in the snatch with a score of 188 kg.
Today, in the weight category of 102 kg, the man Sharofiddin Amriddinov justified all claims and set a record result for injuries to date. Takye Hamada Muhammadan of Palestine won the gold medal in the Jerk. However, by the rules of the sport, he won the gold medal as the first Palestinian champion to win the pedestal podium with 204 kg and won the gold medal. In the team standings of our athletes, he won another gold medal with a result of 372 kg. Thus, Sharofiddin Amriddinov won two gold and one silver medals at today's competitions.
Also, Ogabek Tukhtaev in the 73 kg weight category was awarded and recognized as the “Best Athlete” in international ex-sport.
In general, students of Samarkand State University deservedly defended the honor of our country, having won 4 medals - 2 gold and 2 silver.
During a telephone conversation with our athletes, they unanimously admitted that the X medals are dedicated not only to the honesty of Uzbekistan, but also to the memory of our compatriots who defended our country.
Now our athletes are preparing for the Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be held on May 15 in Antalya.
