About Mavlon Dzhurakulov, Honored Worker of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan

If you want to be humane, then you are a human

The people are worried about him.

These lines of the great poet Alisher Navoi are addressed to the Honored Coach of the Youth of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Mavlon Dzhurakulov.

Maybe that's how life works. For many years of work at Samarkand State University, I have witnessed how some scientists considered mostly themselves. But Mavlon Dzhurakulov was only concerned about the university, there would be no problems at SamSU on which he did not comment.

When I was vice-rector of SamSU, I received many letters from Mavlon Dzhurakulov. In his letters, the teacher commented on the positive and negative phenomena at the university and made suggestions. Then I thought: Mavlon Dzhurakulov was a bell of conscience for Samarkand State University. I used his views on university life in my work. I saw many times: Mavlon Dzhurakulov's advice, suggestions or opinions about some people turned out to be correct. Mavlon Dzhurakulov will be on the side of justice. He could not be a spectator of the violation of someone's rights. The speeches of the teacher at the scientific councils woke everyone up.

Mavlon Dzhurakulov literally loved Samarkand State University. He fought for his glory all his life. There are many rumors about the dismissal of many leaders. But I have never heard anything bad about Mavlon Dzhurakulov. Master has been awake all his life. Not a day goes by that he doesn't think about college. In our conversations, he also talked a lot about the rectors of the university. Musa Muminov played an important role in the reorganization of SamSU, which was closed during the Great Patriotic War.

He also recognized the rector of Samarkand State University, professor, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Kholmurodov as the most outstanding head of Samarkand State University over the years of independence.

Today I often read the letters of Mavlon Dzhurakulov and find new meanings in them. During the years of my work as the rector of Samarkand State University, I heard a lot that the teacher wished well even to a simple student, talked to him and found a way to please him.

The scientist was a great old man, adviser and leader of the Samarkand region. With the help of colleagues, like-minded friends Khasan Normurodov, Nuriddin Shukurov, Mardonkul Umarov, Melikul Nusharov, Khotam Turaev, Leonard Sobirov, Dushan Faizi, Rahmonkul Orzibekov, Maksud Muminov... they thought of the future of our homeland Samarkand, the bright future.

The life of a scientist is a model for many of us. I witnessed the suffering of a teacher when her husband died. They relied on each other for many years. The teacher, with tears in her eyes, said that his wife sent the money she had saved up while in graduate school without eating or drinking.

Mavlon Dzhurakulov was loyal to his family, kind to his friends, and cared about his students. That is why the Jorakulov dynasty is still in vogue. The children of the teacher are the famous historian Dilfuza Dzhuraulova, Dean of the Faculty of Human Resources Management of SamSU, Associate Professor Shokhrukh Dzhurakulov, awarded the title of Mavlon Dzhurakulov, following in the footsteps of his father and serving our people.

Mavlon Dzhurakulov was 90 years old during his lifetime. He was satisfied with the current development of SamSU. Human life may end physically, but it will last forever. A striking example of this is the life and scientific work of the famous archaeologist Mavlon Dzhurakulov. Someday, if the children and students of Mavlon Dzhurakulov publish his scientific heritage in full, I would be happy to present the teacher's letters, which are stored in my archive.

I am always proud to partner with Mavlon Jurakulov as a teacher-student. I bow before the memory of this wonderful, versatile man. I consider it appropriate to perpetuate the memory of the teacher.
