European scientists visited SamSU

    Delegation of Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania visited Samarkand State University. The main goals of this visit are to train personnel in the field of agriculture and to start joint research projects with SamSU. Delegation also considered admission of students from the Faculty of International Educational Programs of SamSU to study for two years in Lithuania, on the basis of joint educational programs.

    - This is my first visit to Samarkand State University, - told the head of delegation, Professor Astrida Maseikiyene. - I am glad to cooperate with your university. Vytautas Magnus University was founded in 1922 and operates on the basis of Harvard model. We established partnerships with over 800 universities in 81 countries. Six students from the Republic of Uzbekistan study at our university. Our university ranks 61st in the International European QS EESA ranking.

    - Representatives from delegation invited from Lithuania offered Samarkand State University to participate in the Erasmus mobility program as a partner, i.e. to participate in projects, - told SamSU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Professor Akmal Ahatov. - In addition, our students were invited to participate in Agro-eco agricultural exhibitions, conferences on food security .

    During the visit, delegation also visited Zoological Museum of Samarkand State University. The guests were impressed by the valuable and unique exhibits presented there.
