The delegation was received by the Rector of SamSU, Rustam Khalmuradov. During the meeting, the results of the productive cooperation between SamSU and the University of Bologna over the past 10 years were summarized, and future development plans were established.

Rector Rustam Khalmuradov emphasized that ensuring food security in the Central Asian region, the rational use of water resources, and the stabilization of ecological balance are priority tasks, and the ongoing cooperation with the University of Bologna plays a pivotal role in this regard. It was also noted that, within the framework of this partnership, personnel are being trained in the field of “smart agriculture”, a sector whose relevance is expected to grow significantly in the near future.

In turn, Professor Moreno Toselli highlighted that there are ample opportunities to further expand ties between SamSU and the University of Bologna, specifically in adapting advanced Italian agricultural technologies to the conditions of Uzbekistan. He noted that five SamSU students are currently successfully pursuing their Master’s degrees at the University of Bologna, expressing confidence that they will graduate as highly qualified specialists in “smart agriculture” and contribute worthily to the development of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.

As part of the cooperation, key tasks were established to further expand opportunities for SamSU students to pursue Master’s and Doctoral studies at the University of Bologna, as well as to advance scientific research in the most pressing areas of agriculture.
