A ceremonial event titled “Linguo-Victory: A Historic Step in International Ranking” was held at Samarkand State University, celebrating SamSU’s achievement of 251–300th place in the “Modern Languages” category of the QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2026.

The event was opened by Akhmadjon Soliyev, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Samarkand State University.

Khakim Khushvaqtov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations of the university, read out the congratulatory address to the attendees from Rustam Khalmuradov, Rector of Samarkand State University, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Member of the Oliy Majlis Senate. This address particularly highlighted the high achievements of the Samarkand State University team in recent years in educational reforms, international cooperation, scientific research, and international rankings.

A special certificate confirming the ranking position was presented to Jo‘liboy Eltazarov, Director of the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Central Asian Peoples.

Rector’s letters of appreciation were presented by Akhmadjon Soliyev, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of SamSU, to professors and teachers who made significant contributions to achieving the ranking position.

Jo‘liboy Eltazarov, Director of the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Central Asian Peoples, delivered a detailed report on the scientific activities and successes achieved by the institute’s scholars, teachers, researchers, and the entire team.

Nurali Hamidov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Central Asian Peoples, in his presentation “Top-300: Academic Excellence and International Prestige,” explained the guidelines for successful participation in the “Linguistics” subject ranking using digital technologies.

Professor Ibodulla Mirzayev, Head of the Department of Applied Linguistics, Methodology of Teaching Uzbek Language and Literature at the institute, delivered a welcoming speech.
