Meeting of the Academic Council held at Samarkand State University

The regular meeting of the Academic Council took place at Samarkand State University, opened by Rector Rustam Khalmuradov. In his speech, the Rector noted the positive achievements of the faculty and students in education and research. He specifically emphasized that, due to the significant attention from the country’s leadership, new academic buildings have been constructed, modern laboratories and scientific centers have been launched, and new institutes have been established. He also discussed the current priorities facing the university community.

Rector Rustam Khalmuradov announced with great satisfaction that according to the “QS World University Rankings by Subject – 2026” released by the prestigious international agency QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), Samarkand State University ranked 251-300 in the field of Modern Languages.

Additionally, the title of Honorary Professor of Samarkand State University was conferred upon Turkish journalist Muhammad Ruziboy. Furthermore, on behalf of the university staff, Mohigul Tohirova (PhD), a teacher at the Department of Applied Psychology, was congratulated for being awarded the Zulfiya State Prize by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
