In 2024, Samarkand State University became one of the first universities in Uzbekistan to earn 5 stars in the QS Stars ranking, establishing itself as one of the world's highest-rated universities.

    The results of the 2025 Impact Ranking by Times Higher Education, one of the world's most prestigious rating agencies, have now been published

    Sharaf Rashidov Samarkand State University is now among the top 600 higher education institutions worldwide in this recognised ranking.

    Оur university entered the top 1,000 universities in this ranking for the first time in 2024.

    Samarkand State University was also included in the list of the world's top 100 universities in two categories: clean water and sanitation (SDG6), and preserving terrestrial ecosystems (SDG15).

    For reference: The Impact Ranking, published by Times Higher Education (THE), assesses how universities perform in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 2,526 universities from 130 countries participated in the ranking in 2025.
