Rare natural history: what kind of plant Lagochilus?

Every day, an increasing variety of plants of green nature disappears due to the chaotic use of plant resources by man. Vegetation cover is in crisis due to climate change, global warming. Under the pressure of anthropogenic and climatic factors, many rare plant species are disappearing in the flora of Central Asia. In particular, they include a number of plants belonging to the bluegrass family. The bluegrass family is considered one of the largest plant families on earth. Its representatives are distributed mainly in countries with a warm and temperate climate. This family includes about 200 genera and 3000 species. It is known that 360 species belonging to 53 genera grow in Central Asia, and 238 species belonging to 39 genera grow in Uzbekistan. The bluegrass family is also one of the most common families in the flora of Uzbekistan and differs from other families in the richness of useful species. Representatives of such constellations as mint, marmarak, deer, Lagochilus, toguraikhan, lemonnut, lion's tail have been used in medicine, food, confectionery and perfume industries since ancient times. Lagochilus - a medicinal plant of the mint family, has long been used in folk medicine. 3 species growing in the Samarkand region are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. One of the important works carried out at Samarkand State University to study the bioecological features of this unique plant, to determine new methods of reproduction, is the study of Samgu Gulbon Turakulova, Master of the Faculty of Biology, on the topic “Reproduction under “in vitro” conditions of species of the genus Lagochilus Bunge (Sarcus bozulbang) and creation of a collection in the Botanical Garden of SamSU”. The researcher, under the scientific supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Botany Akbar Akhmedov, conducts scientific research on the topic of reproduction methods and bioecological features of the harlequin plant.
“There are 46 species of hares lip on Earth and 13 species in Uzbekistan,” says researcher Gulbonu Turakulova. - Today, most populations of species of this genus are endangered. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out monitoring in order to preserve them in nature. At present, breeding and creation of a collection of species of the genus Lagochilus under “in vitro” conditions is topical. The analysis of the use and use of the hares lip in the national economy showed that along with the existing species of hares lip, from which honey, aphids and essential oil are obtained, medicinal and decorative, that is, decorative species are widespread in our country. Of the 74 plant species belonging to the family, it is not currently used. Lagochilus is one of the valuable medicinal plants that are considered effective in calming the nervous system, treating skin diseases, controlling blood pressure, stopping internal and external bleeding.
