Why do we need gender equality?

- What is the meaning of "The Question on Women"?
- What does the low level of independence of 68% of schoolgirls in choosing a profession indicate?
In the 20-21st centuries, one of the urgent problems of society is the revision of gender equality issues and its practical change. The main direction of these changes is a new look at the position and role of women in various spheres of labor and social activity, an idea of the harmony of motives, interests, positions and activities of both sexes.
In recent years, efforts to eliminate gender inequality have intensified in Uzbekistan. Issues of gender policy, gender studies, especially issues related to the "Question on Women", are among the priority issues of state policy at the official level. Measures have been identified to improve the status of women, especially to protect and expand their rights through legal instruments.
An analysis of the problem of choosing a profession by modern teenagers shows that school graduates need the help of adults in determining and considering their future career trajectory, taking into account gender characteristics. In this case, cooperation between the neighborhood, the family and the educational institution comes to the fore.
The method of Sandra Bem: "Masculinity, femininity and gender type of personality", a modified method for determining the professional type of personality of J. Holland, the results of a study by E. A. Klimov constructed on a differential diagnostic questionnaire, show that today schoolchildren clearly lack a professional plan, among them (68%) demonstrate a low level of independence in choosing a profession.
According to the results, the level of adherence to gender stereotypes in matters of the professional division of labor among young men is 70.8 percent. Girls have more liberal ideas about the division of labor: 42.3% of them consider stereotypes in the division of occupations into "male" and "female" to be insignificant. In the course of the study, students' preferences in choosing a profession are determined, taking into account gender characteristics.
Gender socialization is an important component of the process of development and adaptation of schoolchildren, it contributes to self-determination in the personal and professional spheres.
Taking into account the gender socialization of adolescents contributes to the formation of internal readiness for the realization of the child's career prospects. This can be explained by the use of intensified didactic tools aimed at professional orientation of students based on a gender approach in the educational process. In this regard, it is important to acquaint young people with books, to give them the opportunity to freely express their opinions and listen to them.
In summary, supporting young people and supporting the new thoughts and ideas they have will increase their self-confidence.
