On May 16, for the first time in history, a woman climbed Mount Everest.

Junko Tabei, a mountaineering instructor from Japan, became the first woman in world history to climb Mount Everest (Chomolungma) on May 16, 1975. Interestingly, you will not see this information on Uzbek-language sites.
Junko Tabei was born on September 22, 1939 in Miharu, Japan, the fifth of seven children. At the age of 10, she gave in to her dreams and impressions, won a ticket to ride Mount Nasu, and climbed the mountain for the first time. After that, mountaineering became an integral part of Junko's life.
On May 15, 1975, she climbed Everest, fulfilling her eternal dream.
After climbing her historic Mount Everest, Junko Tabei's statements showed that she was not only a passionate climber, but also a self-respecting person. In The Telegraph, she said she wants to be remembered as the 36th person to cross the finish line, not as the first woman to climb Everest. “I didn’t set out to be the first woman on Everest,” she said in an interview.
