Do not miss the opportunity to apply for the Belt and Road Scholarship, established by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China for the 2027/2028 academic year.

The programme aims to support talented international students from countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and offers them the opportunity to pursue their studies at leading higher education institutions in Hong Kong.

The scholarship is available to applicants applying for the following programmes:

  • Undergraduate programmes – for students seeking to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Hong Kong;
  • Research Postgraduate programmes – for candidates interested in conducting academic research and pursuing doctoral studies.

The scholarship provides full coverage of tuition fees for the prescribed duration of the relevant academic programme. Renewal of the scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic performance and is assessed annually.

The following higher education institutions in Hong Kong participate in the programme:

  • City University of Hong Kong;
  • Hong Kong Baptist University;
  • Lingnan University;
  • The Chinese University of Hong Kong;
  • The Education University of Hong Kong;
  • The Hong Kong Polytechnic University;
  • The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology;
  • The University of Hong Kong;
  • The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Application procedure

Applications for the scholarship must be submitted through participating universities. Prospective applicants are advised to consult the official websites of their chosen institutions in advance to review admission procedures, eligibility requirements, required documents and application deadlines.
