Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University announces the launch of the international academic mobility scholarship program TIES (Türkiye International Exchange Scholarship Program), implemented with the support of Türkiye Scholarships.

The program aims to develop international cooperation, strengthen academic, cultural, and social ties between countries, and enhance the quality of higher education through student exchange.

The university serves as a pilot platform for this program as part of its cooperation with the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities.

Who can apply?

• Undergraduate students (GPA no less than 2.50/4.00 or 65/100);

• Graduate students (GPA no less than 3.00/4.00 or 76/100);

• Age – up to 29 years old;

• Proficiency in English or Turkish at least B1 level;

• Full-time study at foreign (non-Turkish) higher education institutions;

• No Turkish citizenship (including dual citizenship).

Important:

• The program does not apply to students of medical and dental faculties.

• Students wishing to study for one semester can only apply for the autumn semester. Those planning to stay for two semesters must choose both the autumn and spring semesters. Applying for only the spring semester is not possible.

• Minimum participation period – 1 semester, maximum – 2 semesters.

• Students in their first semester of study (freshmen) and students of preparatory programs are not eligible to participate.

Application Procedure

1. Nomination:

Candidates are nominated by their home university and sent to the email: international@ohu.edu.tr

2. Required Documents:

• Completed application form

• Copy of passport

• Academic transcript (in English)

• Photo (in JPG or PDF format)

Candidates who successfully pass the preliminary selection will need to upload the specified documents to the YTB system along with their admission letter.

Program Financial Support

The TIES program includes:

• Monthly scholarship;

• Free accommodation;

• Coverage of travel expenses (round-trip tickets);

• Exemption from tuition fees at the host university; however, they are responsible for paying any fees required by their home university.
