Saidov Ilkhomjon Muhiddinovich

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor. Since 1975, he has been working at the Department of Historiography and Source Studies. In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation titled: “The Working Class in the Agrarian Transformations of Uzbekistan (1929–1941).”

To date, Ilxomjon Saidov has authored nearly 300 academic works, including 12 monographs, 12 educational manuals, 12 teaching-methodological guides, and more than 260 scholarly articles. Additionally, 2 of his scientific papers have been published in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.

Radjabova Dilora Nazarovna

Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor. Since 1987, she has been working at the Department of Historiography and Source Studies. In 2002, she defended her PhD dissertation on the topic: “Youth and Women Issues in the Views of Turkestan Jadids (Late 19th – Early 20th Century).” Currently, she is preparing for the defense of her Doctor of Science (DSc) dissertation on the topic: “Central Asia in the Studies of Russian Orientalists: Imperial Narratives and Scientific Paradigms.”

To date, Dilora Radjabova is the author of more than 60 academic works, including 1 monograph, 2 educational manuals, 2 teaching-methodological guides, and around 60 scientific and popular science articles. Additionally, 2 of her articles have been published in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.

Currently, he is conducting research for his PhD dissertation on the topic: "The Study of the History of Samarkand in Western European Historiography."

In 2022, he was awarded the Navoi State Scholarship.

To date, Ulug‘bek Ismoilovich Imomov is the author of more than 50 scientific works, including nearly 40 articles published in international impact-factor journals, 5 in scientific journals approved by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC), and about 10 in materials of international and national scientific-practical conferences. In addition, he has 2 articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.

About the Department of Historiography and Source Studies

The department was created as an analogue of the Faculty of History in 1927 under the name "History of the Peoples of the USSR". Professor Yushkov S.V. (1927-1934), Phenomenov M.Ya. (1934-1937), Malkov A.M. (1937-1941), Fituni A.P. (1944-1949), associate professors Chikaev Kh.F. (1949-1956), Aleskerov Yu.N. (1956-1972), headed the department.

In 1997-2000, the head of the department was Doctor of Historical Sciences. prof. Saidov I.M., and in 2002-2007, Doctor of History. Yusupov R.K. From 2007 to May 2013, the department was headed by Doctor of Historical Sciences. Prof. Saidov I.M. From 2013 to the present, the department is headed by Doctor of Historical Sciences. prof. B.E. Ergashev.

Also in the history of the department M.Yu. Aminov, Kh.A. Aminov, O.A. Azimov, K.Yu. Yusupov, N.I. Akhmedova, V.I. Sevryuk, S. Ismailova, K.M. Mamatkulov, S. Gasanova, R. Uzokov, M.A. Negmatova, O.A. Asimov left an unforgettable mark.

In 2002, the department opened a master's program together with the University of Bologna (Italy). At the moment, the department has a master's degree in the specialties 5A120304 - "Methods of historical research and historical research (by country)" and 5A210206 - "Museology, conservation and preservation of art monuments." Today, an educational and methodological material base has been created for the training of specialists who meet the requirements of the time. Curricula, educational programs and educational and methodological complexes have been developed that meet the requirements of the State Educational Standard.

At the department prof. B. Ergashev defended his doctoral dissertation (Dsc) on the topic “Corporate work of the Office of the Turkestan Governor General (historical and source analysis)” in 2018 at the Academic Council of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Assistant T. I. Makhmudov conducts research on the Ph.D. thesis “Education in the Timurid period”, assistant M. Zh. Buzrukov conducts research on the Ph.D. Abriyev conducts research on Ph.D. thesis "Emir Temur and the construction of architectural monuments during the Timurid period (madrasah, mosque, house, bathhouse, irrigation facility)" conducts research on Ph.D. theses.

In 2002-2007, members of the Department of Historiography and Source Studies completed research work on the topic “New Directions and Source Studies in the Study of History in Uzbekistan”, in 2008-2013, research work on the topic “Historiography and Source Studies of Cultural, Socio-Economic History Uzbekistan in the XIX-XX centuries and in the years of independence".
