Doctor of Technical Sciences (DSc), Professor. Working at Samarkand State University since 1994. Head of the Department of Polymer Chemistry and Chemical Technology at Samarkand State University since 2020. Honorary Professor of Safi Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas (Kazakhstan).

Normurot Fayzullayev obtained his Doctor of Technical Sciences (DSc) degree in 2016 on the topic “Development of Technology for Products Derived from Methane”. Author of 24 textbooks (4 published abroad), 16 study manuals (2 published abroad), over 10 educational-methodological manuals, 19 monographs (5 published abroad), 4 patents, and over 500 scientific articles. More than 100 of his articles have been published in Scopus journals, h-index is 24. Over 32 articles have been published in Web of Science journals.

In 2017-2018, Normurot Fayzullayev led the applied state grant OT-A12-46 on the topic “Creation, Research of Catalysts and Optimization of the Methane Oxycondensation Reaction Process Based on Local Raw Materials”.

In 2024, the scientist obtained 4 international patents. Under his supervision, 7 master's theses and 15 PhD dissertations in technical sciences have been defended.

Has been working at the Faculty of Chemistry of Samarkand State University since 1978. Defended his candidate dissertation on the topic “Study of Phenolic Compounds of Plants of the Genus Scutellaria Growing in Central Asia”. Author of over 60 articles. In 2021, she successfully defended her candidate dissertation on “Development of Scientific and Technological Foundations of the Methane Oxycondensation Process with the Participation of a Catalyst Obtained from Local Raw Materials”. In 2023, she successfully defended her PhD dissertation in technical sciences on “Development of Methods for Modifying Polyethylene Terephthalate in the Direction of Improving Quality Indicators of Textile Threads”. Working as an assistant (PhD) at the Department of “Polymer Chemistry and Chemical Technology” of the Institute of Biochemistry at Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov since 2023, and as an associate professor at this department since 2025. Since 2024, she has been conducting research at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology in specialty 02.00.14 — “Technology of Organic Substances and Materials Based on Them” on the topic “Study of the Possibility of Regulating the Properties of Fibers from Secondary Polyethylene Terephthalate and Technology of Their Production”. 	Atavullayeva Shaxnoza Shavkatovna shahnozaatavullaeva@gmail.com Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Sciences (PhD). Working as a lecturer at the Department of Polymer Chemistry and Chemical Technology since 2026. She is the author of over 30 articles and abstracts in total. Of these, 6 articles are published in journals indexed in the Scopus database.
	From the History of the Department of Polymer Chemistry and Chemical Technology The Department of Polymer Chemistry and Chemical Technology was established in 2020. Currently, 14 professors and teachers work at the department. Among them, there are 2 academicians, 4 professors, 4 candidates of chemical sciences, associate professors, and 4 PhDs. Over the past short period, significant results have been achieved in educational and scientific fields by the department faculty. In particular, the head of the department, Professor Normurot Fayzullaev, based on mentor-student traditions, together with master's students, researchers, and doctoral students, has had more than 30 scientific articles accepted in high impact factor journals listed in Scopus.
	In addition, a number of textbooks, study manuals, and monographs have been published by the department teachers. Under the leadership of Professor N. Fayzullaev, 13 researchers have successfully defended their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertations. This year, dissertation defenses for obtaining the PhD degree in technical sciences are planned for another 4 teachers of the department. Through this, the scientific potential of the department will rise to 100%.
	The goal is to achieve high results in educational and scientific fields in the future as well. The scientific potential at the department is considered sufficient for this purpose. Also, based on the main research topic of the department, agreements have been signed with relevant foreign higher educational institutions. High-quality education is provided to students by professors and teachers from a number of international universities. The department has signed agreements with chemical manufacturing enterprises regarding student employment.
