Since 2024, Shohnazar Abdusamatovich Hazratqulov has been serving as the Head of the Department of Agroecosystem Management at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology and Food Security of Sharof Rashidov Samarkand State University.
In 2009, he successfully defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation entitled "The Effect of Compost on the Agrochemical Properties of Carbonate Soils and Maize Yield."
He pursued doctoral studies at Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), one of the world's Top 100 universities. He is currently conducting research on "Treatment of Biowaste and Green Waste for Use as Soil Conditioner and Fertilizer in Agriculture."
To date, he has authored three research articles published in prestigious Q1 journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, as well as one textbook.

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor. In 1977, he defended his candidate thesis on the topic "The Effect of Mulching on Soil Properties and Cotton Yield," and in 1996, he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic "The Effect of Mulching and Compost Application on the Improvement of Soil Properties and Regimes in Irrigated Soils of the Grey Soil Region and Its Impact on Cotton Yield." The scientist leads research in soil science, agrochemistry, ecology, and environmental fields. Professor Shodi Kholikulov participated with a presentation at the 10th and 20th International Congresses of the World Soil Scientists Society. He is a member of the International Association of Chemists in the USA and a member of the "Study of the Impact of Global Warming on Agriculture" international society at Ohio State University. The scientist actively works as a member of the editorial board of journals such as "Uzbekistan Soil," "Uzbekistan Geographical Society Bulletin," and "SamDU Bulletin." Shodi Kholikulov is the author of 10 textbooks and study guides, 7 monographs, more than 30 methodological manuals, and over 320 articles. Ortikov Tulkin Kuchkorovich Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor. He has been working at the Department of Soil Science and Agronomy at Samarkand State University since 2020. In 1991, he defended his candidate thesis on the topic "Microbiological Activity of Grey Soils and the Etiology of Verticillium dahliae Kleb Phytopathogenic Fungus When Nitrification Inhibitors Are Applied." He is currently working on his doctoral thesis on the topic "The Relationship Between the Humus and Microbiological Status of Soils in the Zarafshan Valley and Natural and Anthropogenic Factors." About the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Protection In 2022, by decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Agrobiotechnologies and Food Safety was created at Samarkand State University. The Institute includes the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Protection. The department offers the following undergraduate majors: 60810700 – Agrochemistry and agro-soil science, 60811000 – Plant protection (by type of crop), 60811800 – Fruit growing and viticulture, 60811900 – Vegetable growing, rice growing and potato growing and 60812000 – Organization and management of a greenhouse, as well as 9 master’s specialties : 70530702 – Experimental agrochemistry, 70810702 – Agrochemistry, 70811001 – Plant protection (by methods), 70811901 – Vegetable and melon growing, 70811803 – Viticulture and pre-processing of grapes, 70811902 – Potato growing, 70811804 – Biotechnology in fruit and vegetable farming, 70812001 – Growing fruits and vegetables on protected lands and 70811802 – Subtropical and citrus fruit crops. Currently, 10 professors and teachers work at the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Protection. Of these, 1 is a doctor of sciences-professor, 3 candidates of sciences, 6 assistants. 10 professor-teachers work on a part-time basis. |
