Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor. He has been working at Samarkand State University since 1968. He defended his PhD thesis on the topic "Synonyms of expressive sentences".

For the labour activity author of 2 textbooks, 35 educational -methodical grants. To date he published over 150 scientific and scientific-methodological articles in international scientific journals and national journals of countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Africa, and Poland.

Umrzakov Ulugbek Sindorovich

Senior Lecturer at the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages at Samarkand State University. He has been working at Samarkand State University since 1994.
During his career he has published more than 60 scientific works. He is the author of 3 methodical and 2 manuals. He published 5 articles in foreign scientific journals. He published more than 50 articles in other prestigious publications. He is engaged in scientific research on "Contrast in Uzbek and French proverbs".

Azimova Zuhro Ismatilloevna

Assistant Lecturer. She has been working at the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages at SamSU since 2019. In total during her career she is the author of 9 scientific works. She has published 4 articles in foreign scientific journals and 5 articles in other scientific publications. She is leading a scientific research on "Comparative-typological study of the system of pronouns in German and Uzbek languages".

About the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages

The Department of Romance-Germanic Languages was created in 1963 under the leadership of Associate Professor A. Kiltnova and Associate Professor T. Imomnazarov.

Professors B. Tursunov, M. Kholbekov, associate professors A. Nurmukhammedov, A. Narzukulov, Mamatkhanova, A. Eshonkulov, and B. Velmyshev were in charge and worked in the department. Also in the field of philology were headed by professors N. Turnizov, I. Mirzaev, A. Mamatov, doctors of philological sciences who were in higher positions with their mature scientific potential, and in later periods worked Professor M. Begmatov, associate professors G. Ataeva, A. Khasanov. Now in the department scientific and pedagogical activity are engaged 1 professor, 2 (PhD) teachers, 3 senior lecturers and 9 assistant teachers.

The results of research work carried out at the department have been published in prestigious publications of foreign countries such as Russia, USA, Ukraine, Africa, Poland and Kazakhstan. In addition to scientific works, the staff of the department published more than fifty textbooks, educational and methodical manuals in German, French and Latin.
