Interview with Khadicha Orzibekova, daughter of a well-known literary critic, doctor of philological sciences, professor, skillful trainer, kind teacher Rahmonkul Orzibekov, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Samarkand State University

            - What is the main reason why you became a lawyer?

      - I studied well at school. I graduated from high school with a gold medal. In the same year, a department of law was opened at the Faculty of History. That's why I started learning it. My teachers encouraged me to continue my studies because I got excellent grades at the university. Thus, I continued my work at the Faculty of Law. Later I worked in the bar, the regional administration, and the judiciary. After I retired, I was again offered to teach at the newly established law school. Thus, my work at SamSU continues.

I think my love of science came from my father. My father also made me choose the field of law. When I was little, when I asked my father why he called me Khadicha, he said that people with the name Khadicha occupy a place in society, lead women, and cited Khadicha Sulaymonova, who received a degree in law, as an example. Shortly after this incident, my father left for Tashkent. On the way back, they brought me a book. If you look, this is a book called "Academic Khadicha", dedicated to the life path of Khadicha Sulaymanova. Then I carefully read the book. Getting acquainted with the life path of a scientist, her love for the field of jurisprudence, reading about what she experienced along the way, I was also imbued with a special interest in this area.

There are three girls and two boys in the family. My brother, Ulugbek Orzibekov, is a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, my second brother graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry. My sisters Mehriniso and Guliniso work in public education. My parents brought up these five children, brought them up well and brought them up to be useful people for society. They were very kind to us. My father was not a strict father. We were never searched or restricted in anything. Everything I have achieved in my life is thanks to my father.

Since my father was a man of science, great scientists and academics often came to our house. Vahid Abdullayev, Botir Valikhodzhaev, Suyima Ganieva, Muslihiddin Mukhiddinov, Rakhmatilla Kongurov, Suyun Karimov often came and spent time with my father at scientific meetings. Gaybullah As-Salam was a close friend of my father. We still visit each other.

My father held a place of honor in the community of scientists. They were people with an open mind in business. He always tried to help colleagues, neighbors, acquaintances, even strangers. He never expected a response to his good deeds. He forgot his help where he gave it. Therefore, he was the favorite teacher of the students. I have never heard him speak loudly to anyone. His speech was fluent, his phrases were beautiful, his voice was characteristic of a skillful orator, he was polite, he was a family man.

My father tried to have good relations with everyone, he treated his students as if they were his own children. There were times when my father was angry with his students. There was a lot of work. I don't remember him being idle. There were always piles of books on the table in his office. He loved his job. Books were the language of the soul. When he went to Tashkent, he always brought a bunch of books for us, for his close students and friends...

My son, Sharof Khudoyberdiev, a graduate of the Faculty of Biology of Samarkand State University, is currently working as a senior research fellow at the University of Marburg in Germany. In my son, I see a father's love and passion for science. My son studied at the Turkish Lyceum. At that time, there was a Turkish lyceum in Samarkand. While studying at this university, he participated in the international Olympiad and won a bronze medal. As a student, he won a Presidential Scholarship. I never forced my son to study. When he entered the Lyceum, he did not know English at all. When we tried to give him extra English lessons so that he would not have any difficulty with some subjects taught in English, he said: “No, I will learn it myself”, and in a short time he learned a foreign language. At that time, my father saw his diligence and said: "With such intelligence and knowledge, your son will be a very big man." By the prophecy and blessing of his grandfather, my son achieves success in science, which is envied by many, and more or less benefits our people.

   - Doing science definitely takes a lot of time...

It is impossible to carry science, work and family in the same way all the time, to give them all the same time. My father devoted most of his time to work and science. Therefore, family affairs in the family lay more on my mother's shoulders. Behind every heroic man is a woman, through whom he has reached the level of heroism. A person's success in life, the good and bad times that fall in his path with patience and success, also depend on his life partner. My mother also played a big role in my father becoming such a person. My mother is also from Osh. I think that the fate of our family is connected with Samarkand.

In 1945-47, my father, despite his young age, worked as a secretary and assistant chief accountant in the management of the collective farm. In 1951 he came to Samarkand and entered the philological faculty of Samarkand State University. They came to the attention of Vahid Abdullayev while still studying at the university and stayed here to continue their scientific work. Thus, the young family moved to Samarkand. After arriving in Samarkand, my mother also entered the Faculty of Philology. Thus, our destiny is connected with Samarkand.

My father first began his career at Samarkand State University as an assistant, then worked as a senior lecturer, associate professor, and since 1984 as a professor. In the late 60s, they began to seriously study the history of Uzbek classical literature, touching on topics rarely studied in Uzbek literature. In addition, my father was fluent in Persian and Arabic and could work directly with ancient manuscripts.

      - How much has the name of Rahmonkul Orzibekov's daughter influenced your life?

The name of Rahmonkul Orzibekov's daughter has always supported me in any situation. Wherever I go, as soon as they hear my family, they immediately recognize me and remember my father.

During my career, I worked as a judge for some time. This profession is a very responsible profession. In this work, it is important to be fair, to give a correct and impartial assessment of the situation from the side of the law. While we were talking about my work with my father, he said: “Daughter, your work is a very responsible profession. Always try to be fair. They often said: "Give a correct assessment of the situation."

All my life I tried to be worthy of the name of the daughter of Rahmonkul Orzibekov. Being the daughter of a famous person is not easy, the responsibility is heavy. To be honest, I had no room for error.

      - I think I managed to justify it to some extent. If a person leaves behind a good memory, many scientific works, student scientists, children and grandchildren, then it is believed that his life was happy and meaningful. God bless the soul of my father, may he prosper in the future, may he find happiness in eternal peace. Their bright memories will always be in our memory...
