Human and animal physiology and biochemistry

The department has been operating under the name of "Human and Animal Physiology" at the Faculty of Biology of the University since 1934. When the department was established, the head of the department was V.V. Popo. In 1944, as a result of the merger of the department with the department of "Biochemistry" and it was renamed - "Physiology and Biochemistry of Man and Animals". P.M. Directed by Faktorovich. Then, until 1970, the department was headed by a well-known physiologist, Professor Bahrom Yusupovich Hamrakulov. During this period, the department conducted research on "Nutritional Physiology", "Electrophysiology", "Hematology" and "Biochemistry of micronutrients" Chianurov D.A., Mamayeva T.N., Ataullaxanov I.A., Abdullayeva D.A., Qodirova S.Z., Isaqov X.I, Baqoev F.B, A.Sh. Tog’aynazarov, such as M.G. Safin well-known professors and teachers, conducted their scientific research and defended their dissertations on relevant topics.
For scientific research work of the department prof. Under the leadership of L.N. Lapin, a well-known scientist of the department, Professor I.A. Ataullahanov defended his Doctoral Dissertation.
During the effective activity of the department in 1970-1972, the department was headed by well-known academic Y.H.Turakulov who was worked as a head of the University. In 1972-1993, the head of the department was prof. M.A. Rish continued his research work on "The use of micronutrients in the development of animal husbandry in the biochemical regions of Uzbekistan" and established a problem laboratory "Biochemistry of micronutrients." Under the leadership of the famous scientist, 6 doctors of sciences and about 60 candidates of sciences were trained, and a school of biochemists was established.
In 1993-1998 the department was headed by prof. Nuritdinov E.N.. During this period he conducted research on "Mechanisms of neuropeptide regulation of higher nervous activity." From September 1998 to March 1999 the head of the department was Bokayev F.B..
In 1998, due to the addition of Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology of former Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute, the scientific and pedagogical potential of the department increased. From March 1999 to March 2005 the department was headed by prof. M.O. Oralov. During this period, the department conducted scientific researchs on "Evolutionary, eco-physiological and biochemical basis of animal biology." Rajabov (supervisor prof. M.A. Rish), B.M. Bozorov (supervisor prof. E.N. Nuritdinov), G.A. Dushanova (supervisor prof. N.M. Hayitova) successfully defended their dissertations and further increased the scientific potential of the department.
In 2005, the department was merged with the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology and renamed the Department of Physiology, Genetics and Biochemistry. From March 29, 2005 to June 2011, the department was headed by Associate Professor M.G. Safin. When he headed the department, prof. Urolov M.U. and M.G.Safin conducted scientific research on №31.04 international grant project and more than 14 scientific articles were published in prestigious foreign journals. (Project Manager Prof. Nizamov). In 2009 the graduate student of the department Ioselevich M.A. successfully defended his dissertation (supervisor: prof. Z.T. Rajamurodov). During these years, the department had a master's degree in 3 specialties (5A420105-Human and Animal Physiology, 5A420109-Biochemistry, 5A420110-Biotechnology).
From June 2011 to January 2012, department was headed by  leading scientist of the department prof. Z.T. Rajamurodov. Under the leadership of Zaynitdin Turapovich, talented undergraduate students, masters, independent researchers, graduate students conducted research on "Physiology of digestive processes in ruminants." In the chair prof. Under the guidance of Zaynitdin Turapovich, 2 independent researchers-interns and masters conducted research.
From January to March 2012, the department was headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences Z.F. Headed by Ismayilov. From April 2012 to January 2013, Associate Professor B.M. Bozorov was the head of department. During these years, the researcher Ass. Ismayilova M.A. successfully defended her dissertation in June 2012 and received the degree of Candidate of Sciences (supervisor, Academician Soatov T.S.).

After 2018:
In 2018, the basic doctoral student of the department Kuziev Mirzoxid Sadulloyevich (supervisor prof. ZT Rajamuradov), in 2019 independent researchers of the department Ruziyev Yunus Samandarovich and Hayitov Davron Gaybulloyevich (supervisor prof. ZT Rajamuradov) were successfully defended their dissertation of Doctors of Philosophy(PhD)  in biological sciences.
In September 2018, in connection with the division of the Department of "Physiology, Genetics and Biochemistry" into two separate departments, the Department of "Human and Animal Physiology and Biochemistry" was re-established. That Department is heading by Assosiated Professor M.S.Kuziyev.
Due to the dissolution of the department of "Fundamentals of Sports Physiology and Medical Knowledge" (according to the decision of the Academic Council of SamSU) within the Faculty of Physical Culture, the department currently has a total of 21 professors and teachers, including 11 scientists. (52%), 10 without academic degree (48). Among professors with academic degrees: 2 are doctors and professors of biological sciences, 2 are candidates of biological sciences, professors, 6 are associate professors, 1 is a PhD, an assistant, and the rest are teachers without academic degrees.

Scientific Research work.
Professors and teachers of the department are conducting research on the topic "Effective use of biological resources of the Zarafshan oasis." In particular, on "The effect of roughage on the physiological, biochemical and productivity of small ruminants" prof. Z.T. Rajamuradov, docent. B.M. Bozorov, dots. M.S. Kuziev. docent. D.G. Hayitov, ass. S. Haydarov and talented bachelors and masters are conducting research. Also prof. M.G.Safin, prof. A.I. Rajabov, docent. Yu.S. Ruziyev, docent M.A. Ismoilova, ass. M.Istamqulova, ass. N.B. Rakhmatova, talented students and masters are conducting research on such issues as "Study of the etiological and biochemical aspects of icterohemoglobinuria in Karakol sheep, the role of micronutrients in the body."

The activity of the department on educational and methodical work.

Achievements of the department in the field of teaching methods in 2010 prof. Z.T. Rajamurodov's textbook "Physiology of Man and Animals" was published, and the best textbook of the year took an honorable 3rd place in the competition. In 2013 Rajamurodov Z.T., Bozorov B.M., Rajabov A.I. The textbook "Physiology and Hygiene of Youth" was published by the Ministry of Higher Education, and in recent years, teachers of the department regularly publish textbooks and manuals, which include: AI Rajabov, I.Sh. Jabbarov's textbook "The Evolution of Doctrine". 2018, A.I. Textbook "Physiology, sports physiology" (part 2), co-authored with Rajabov, E. Nuritdinov, 2019. A.I.
