About the Department of Digital Economy

On November 28, 1998, the department of "Accounting and Audit" was created. The heads of the department were S. Alikulov and M. Khoshimov. R. Kushatov was the head of the department in 2009-2015, A. Taniyev in 2015-2017, Professor B. Safarov in 2017-2018, D. Usmanova in 2018-2020. Since 2020 the department has been headed by Professor B. Safarov. In 2011, as a result of the merger of the departments "Finance and Management Accounting" and "Social Economics and Management", it was renamed the department "Social Economics, Management and Finance". In 2015 the name of this department was changed to "Personnel Management". Based on the decision to change the name of the department, the Department of Personnel Management and Business was created in 2018. Since 2020, the department has operated under the name of Digital Economics. Since September 26, 2022 the head of the department is PhD Z. Bakaev. 

Today, a modular system for evaluating students' knowledge has been implemented, and the texts of lectures and teaching kits for all subjects have been prepared and published. Besides, the professors and lecturers of the department have published 7 textbooks, more than 20 manuals, and have created electronic versions of the texts of the lectures. With the aim of pedagogical mastership improvement of the teachers the teaching staff improved their qualification every month during the academic year according to the approved plan for two months. The department constantly organizes scientific and methodological seminars.

The Department of Digital Economy carries out international scientific, educational and methodological cooperation with the Czech Metropolitan University of Prague and the Czech University of Natural Sciences, Granada University of Spain, Delhi J. Nehru University in India, Tomsk State University of Russia, SKFU, Higher School of Economics, Perm University, Kazan Federal University, Minsk Radio Engineering University of the Republic of Belarus.Professors-teachers of the department are still actively involved in scientific and methodological, spiritual and spiritual

Starting from the 2018-2019 academic year, taking into account the need for training specialists in accordance with the requirements of the industries of the economy on the initiative of the department opened a master's degree in the specialty "5A231701 - Human Resources Management". Beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year, a master's degree in the specialty "5A234101 - Digital Economy" was opened.

In Samarkand on the initiative of the Department of Digital Economy an international conference on the theme "Revival of pilgrimage tourism at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road" was organized.

A number of events are also organized to further develop scientific research. Based on the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2020, an international scientific online conference on "Digital Economy: Problems, Solutions, Prospects" was held at Samarkand State University.

In the academic year 2020-2021 on the basis of international educational programs organized jointly with foreign higher educational institutions at the initiative of the Department of Digital Economy the following 5 directions were opened:

Bachelor's Degree

• Digital economy (by species and industry);
• Economics (by types and branches);

Master's Degree

• International relations and modern political processes;
• Corporate finance and stock market (by industry);
• Human Resource Management;

At present, the department employs Doctor of Economics, Professor B. Safarov, Associate Professors R. Kushatov, T. Rakhmanov, G. Parsaev, A. Mardanova, D. Usmanova, O. Ernazarov, Z. Bakaev and assistant H. Karjabova, the level of scientific potential is 89 percent.

Professors and lecturers of the department teach a number of economic disciplines, such as "Statistics", "Economic Analysis and Audit", "Logistics", "Accounting", "Insurance Business", "Finance and Credit", "Innovative Economy. There is a scientific circle of students "Young accountant" at the department.
