During his career Asror Shonazarov took part in more than 20 international and more than 10 scientific-practical conferences recognized by HAC, and published scientific articles in highly prestigious foreign journals. During his pedagogical activity the scientist is the author of 1 educational and methodical manual, 5 teaching aids.

About the Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Samarkand State University was established in 2022. Currently, the department has 25 professors and core faculty members. Of these, 6 are PhDs, associate professors; 8 are PhDs in psychological sciences, 3 are senior lecturers, and 11 are assistants.

Among the professionals with higher education who have contributed to society, including psychologists educated in the field of psychology at Samarkand State University, there are 80 years of service in public life.

The scientists who contributed to the development of psychological science in the university are Sulton Rakhimov ("Pedagogical views of Abu Ali Ibn Sina"), Gavhar Yormukhammedova ("Pedagogical psychology"), Musa Khalilov ("Formation of scientific outlook in students"), Tamara Abaeva ("Family psychology"), Ninel Grigoryeva, Damir Rabbimov ("History of psychology"), Zebo Ibrahimova (psychological service), Zulaikho Khasanova ("Profession-Family Motivation in Students of Craft Colleges"), as well as scholars of human psychology Holboy Ibragimov, Abdukhalim Abduakhadov, Sobir Musinov, Musharraf Salokhutdinova, Azamat Saidov, Obid Kodirov, Fazilat Kuchkarova, Rukhshona Musinova, Mukhtasam Suleimanov and Abira Bakhramova, who are still conducting research in this field and giving basic knowledge in the field of "Psychology" of the university at present - 100-150 graduates per year.

The university has had a bachelor's degree in psychology for 20 years. Course graduates work as psychologists in various areas of public production - education, health care, internal affairs, culture, media, sports, commerce, and other fields.

In recent years, the department has more than 25 professors and teachers who provide education and spiritual education of students, supervise graduates and actively participate in public activities - mass events. In 2013, the department established a training and research laboratory "Psychological Center". Mainly provides psychological services, psychological counseling, psychoprophylactic and psychodiagnostic.

Cooperation relations of the department. To date, there is scientific cooperation with departments of psychology of leading universities in our country and research institutes of psychology in foreign countries. And also, a representative of the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis, candidate of psychological sciences, senior researcher of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, associate professor Tatiana Popova holds webinars "Opportunities of Consulting Psychology: on the example of art therapy. There is also scientific cooperation with the psychologists of Kazan Federal University.

In 2022 on the initiative of the head of department, associate professor Obid Kodirov a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the department of psychology and the department of psychology at Baku State University of the Azerbaijan Republic on strengthening cooperation and mutual relations in the field of science, education and culture.

The scientific and practical cooperation with the chairs of psychology of the leading higher educational institutions of our Republic, the National University of Uzbekistan, Karshi State University, Jizak State Pedagogical University, Bukhara State University, the Tashkent Medical Academy and Samarkand Regional Institute of Retraining and Professional Development of Public Education Workers has been established. The department, as an organization empowered to provide the only psychological opinion in the region, characterizes candidates for government jobs, conducts forensic psychological examinations, and actively assists all organizations in conducting psychoprophylactic work in all districts of Samarkand Region and in the city of Samarkand.
