Biography

In 1974 he was born in Bulungur district of Samarkand region.

In 1992 he graduated from secondary school №31 of Bulungur district of Samarkand region.

In 1993-1997 he was a student of the Geography Faculty of the Samarkand State University.

In 1997-2003 he was a postgraduate researcher in absentia at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.

In 1997-2003 he was an assistant at the Department of Economic Geography of Samarkand State University.

In 1997-2003, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Geography, Samarkand State University.

In 2005-2009, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science, Head of the Geography Department

In 2009-2015, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Economic Geography, Samarkand State University.

In 2016-2018, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Geography, Samarkand State University.

In 2018-2020, Associate Professor of the Department of Socio-Economic Geography, Samarkand State University.

In 2020, the up-to-date time is the head of the department of "socio-economic geography" of the Samarkand State University.

The Department of Economic and Social Geography of the Geographical Department was opened in 1961. Initially, the department was headed by Assoc. S. Burenko from 1961-1963. Since 1963 the head of the department was headed by F.Bakhriev. At this time, some of the young scientists from the local nationality were sent to study for postgraduate studies at Moscow State University. Of these, M.Kh. Khalimov, M.U. Umarov and others. All young scientists completed and defended their dissertations on time and returned. From 1965-1975 M.Kh. Khalimov was the head of the department. During this period S. Abdullaev, G. Ashurov under the guidance of prof. Z.M. Akramov of Tashkent State University, assistant M.K. Khoshimov under the guidance of professor of the pedagogical faculty of Samarkand State University A.S. Efimov defended their candidate dissertation. From 1975-1981 G. Ashurov was the head of the department of "economic and social geography".

From 1981-1999 the head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography was Associate Professor Zhumabaev. During his leadership, young scientists N.Kh. Mamatkulov, M.A.Kodirov, Kh.Khalimova were sent to study at scientific schools in the cities of Moscow and Tashkent.

In 1999, for a short time, Kh. Halimova was the head of the department. In 2000, N.Kh. Mamatkulov was elected to the place of the head of the department and until 2009 he was fruitfully headed. During this period, the scientific potential has increased further. PhD thesis was defended in 2003 by M. Usmonov, in 2006 by O. Mukhamedov.

Since 2009, the head of the department is M. Usmanov. Currently, 7 teachers work in the scientific and pedagogical field. The scientific potential is 85%. During the years of independence, the department established contacts with foreign specialists. Namely, our specialists on the Tacis Tempus program were in many European cities and studied knowledge in the field of urban planning problems. The Department of Economic and Social Geography, on the basis of the entrance (initial) tests 1991, 1992, is engaged in the education of the younger generation of the department with gifted students, pays great attention to the further development of the new generation of the department. This was established during the years of independence. In 1997, the first graduates of the department were hired and all scientific conditions were created for them. This was achieved by M.R.Usmonov, O.Kh. Kuvondikov, S. Koraev, O. Mukhamedov.

2015 was offended by the Department of Physics and Geography and Economics and Geography and a new Department of Geography appeared. Then in 2018, in August, it again became a separate department. In 2018-2019, the Department of Social and Economic Geography is headed by Associate Professor M. Kadirov. From 2020 until today, the department is headed by Associate Professor M. Usmanov.

In 2018 L. Ibragimov successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on the basis of a grant from the European Parliament "ERASMUS MUNDUS SILKE ROATE" to the Republic of Ruminia in the city of Yassi, as the top 500 university is in charge of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. In this grant, associate professor M. Usmanov was a 6 month scientific internship at this university.

Currently, the department employs Prof. A. Abdulkasimov, Assoc. M.Kadirov, Assoc. T. Zhumaboev, Assoc. M. Usmonov, Assoc. L. Ibragimov, associate professor A. Ravshanov senior prep, O. Kuvandikov, ass. U.Badalov.

Currently, 4 teachers of the department are working on a doctoral dissertation. Teachers, professors have published teaching aids, monographs and teaching aids. At the department, an educational and methodological complex has been created in all subjects. Electronic books have been created for the main subjects. Namely, textbooks on Geography of Tourism, Political Geography, Geography of Population, Geography of Cities, Demography, Geography of Samarkand Region, Geography of Continents and Oceans, etc.
