The zoological museum of Samarkand State University has a unique exhibition of the snow leopard. The head of the museum, Bakhadir Muhammadiev, said that this creature was hunted by hunters in 1936 from the Lake Kalon region in Tajikistan. Then he was brought to Samarkand. SamSU scientists found out about this and brought the snow leopard to the museum. At this time, it will be processed by a museum researcher and turned into an exhibit. This snow leopard was about 10-12 years old. This exhibition is perhaps the only one in Uzbekistan.
      Today, the snow leopard is on the verge of extinction. Included in the Uzbekistan and International Red Book. At the same time, in the Western Tien Shan (Ugomsky, Pissky and Chotkalsky ranges) regions of our country, from 10-15 to 30-40 species are found, and in the Western Pamir-Olay - from 20-30 to 50-80 species. (Turkestan, Zarafshan and Hissar ranges).
      In addition to Uzbekistan, they live in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, southern Western Siberia, Mongolia, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
