There are 34 professors-teachers at the faculty of physical culture, among whom and doctor of science, professor, one candidate of science professor , 4 candidates of science, docents, one candidate of science, senior teacher and 26 (more) teachers hold their activities at the faculty, Scientific capacity of faculty is 35,1 %.
At the bachelor’s department of the faculty 495 students study, 25 of them are girls. And at the master’s department 13 students study. Now 7 competitors are taking their scientific - research work at the chairs of the faculty/
In the 2010-2011 academic year 100 students got bachelor’s and 8 students got master’s degrees. In 2009-2011 three teachers of the faculty defended for Ph.D. theses.
There are four chairs at the faculty and they are the followings:
1.Theory and medical-biological principles of physical culture.
2.Teaching methods of physical culture and aspects of sport.
3.Phisical training and sport.
4.Medical training and defense of citizens .
The cipher code of the bachelor’s department is _____ 5112000 and of the master’s department is _____5 A 112001.
There is a laboratory on the «Theory and medical-biological principles of Physical culture» chair, and is equipped all necessary.
3.Phe faculty was founded in 1967 , at the former Samarkand state teacher’s training college (Institute) named after S.Ayniy.
For the past few years R.A.Abdumalikov , B.P.Marokonov, H.T.Rafiev and J.E.Eshnazarov had led the faculty as its deans.
For these years more than 3000 highly qualified specialists have been trained. They are making their contribution in popularizing and developing sport in the regions and in the Republic.
There are graduates among whom champions of the world, Asia the Republic and participants of the Olympic games.
They are N. Nazarov, I.Hamraqulov, M.Sokolov, E.Peskunova, K.Kim, D.Dulatov,I.Sattorov , D.Yarbekov and Sh.Juraev.
At the present time 71 champions of Uzbekistan ,34 champions of the world are studying at the faculty. B.Murodov and Yo. Hamzaev won silver and bronze medals in the 16-Asian championship took place in China, Guanjau.
15 graduates of the faculty have got their degrees by taking scientific-research work. Among the teachers 7 of them are working on their Ph.D. theses.
During the last years teachers of the faculty published three manuals. They are: "Human physiology”, “History of physical culture”, «History of physical culture », and «Tourism and teaching methods of Tourism » Besides that, 10 educational and more than 20 methodical handbooks were also published.
The teachers of the faculty such as professors E.N. Nuriddinov and, J.E. Eshnozarov, docents SH.A.Amirjonov, Y.M. Masharipov, R.A. Kosimova and, B.T. Haydarov, teachers E.SH. Ermatov, U.S. Dusanov,B.B. Kipchakov and Z.B. Boltayev made great contribution in making up these handbooks.
In 2006-2009 2 ph. D thesis were defended and given the candidate degrees.
Most of the scientific articles are edited in scientific journals of our Republic.
The faculty signed the agreements on scientific coexistence with Academy of sciences in Uzbekistan, The state Institute of physical training and Academy of sciences in Russia in order to develop and perfect scientific –research work of the faculty.
