 Statistic information about faculty’s activity

            There are 44 teachers-professors in the faculty of Uzbek philology they are 11 Doctors of science, 10dotsents, 11 candidates of science, 10 teachers Nowadays 401 students in the …. department of the faculty.

            Masters department divides into 2 directions.

  1. Specialty of Linguistics (Uzbek)
  2. Specialty of Literature (Uzbek Literature).

Now 20 students in masters department study and work on their scientific researches.

8 post graduates and 12 researchers study in the specialty of linguistics and literature.

Zafar Pardaev, A.Nosirov, A.Pardaev, D.Urinboeva work an their scientific researches for admitting the degree of Doctor.

            During last years special Council k 07.04.01 functions in the faculty which web formed at the cabinet of ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to get a scientific degree of Candidate of Science till nowadays nearly 50 post graduates and researchers different higher institutions of Uzbekistan defended the dissertation to get the degree of candidate. Now the defenses on the specialty 10.01.03 – Uzbek Literature (History of Literature) and 10.01.06 – Tadjik Literature continue its activity in this council.

            This year 100 students of the faculty will graduate from the University and also in 2011-2012 academic year the defenses of 29 masters 4 candidates dissertation are planned.

            Today 401 students study in the faculty of Uzbek philology, 140 of them study on the budgetary 261 of them study on the contractual basis.

            From the beginning of 1980 famous creative club “shalola” functions in the faculty. Outstanding creators O.Matjon, A.A’zam, …Ahmedov, I.Hasanov, D.Haydarova, O.Hoji, M.Karshiboy, Fahriyor, N.Jonuzok, O.Tuhtash were members of this club.

 Structure of the faculty

            The dean office is responsible for moral, academic, scientific and public affairs, a Methodist work in the deans office .

            There are 4 chairs in the faculty of Uzbek philology, they are:

  1. Chair of Uzbek linguistics
  2. Chair of History of Uzbek Literature
  3. Chair of Modern Uzbek Literature
  4. Chair of practical linguistics, teaching methods of Uzbek Language and Literature.
  1. 2 Doctors of Science, a professors a dotsent, 3 Candidates of Science work in the chair of Uzbek classic Literature the Chairman is Doctor of Philological sciences, professor D.Salohiy.
  2. 2 Doctors of Science, a professor, a candidate of Science, a dotsent, 4 candidates of Science, 2 teachers work in the bachelors masters department in the chair of modern Uzbek Literature. The chairman is professor H.Umurov.
  3. 6 Doctors of Science a professor, 4 Candidates of Science, a dotsent, 3 Candidates of Science a teacher work at the chair of Uzbek Linguistics now the Chairman is A.Abdusaidov.
  4. There are 3 Doctor of Science, professor, 4 Candidates of Science, dotsent, a Candidate of Science, 6 teachers in the chair of Practical linguistics, Teaching methods of Uzbek Language and Literature. The Chairman is U.Mirzaev.

The average age of professor – teachers in the faculty is 48.

 History of the faculty of Uzbek philology

            The faculty of Uzbek philology was founded in 1927. During its activity, more than 7000 philologist-specialists were prepared.

            Uzbek philology is one of the first faculties of the University. Till nowadays in the field of problems of linguistics literature, studying first sources, learning nation’s lexical-grammatical structure of the language its development have being done many scientific theoretical, methodical – practical works as a result in the faculty were founded several schools of linguistics literature which were based by academician V.Abdullaev and professor U.Tursunov.

Subject of literature is one of the leading fields in the faculty, its first steps, esp. studying historical sources and texts begin in 1920-1930. Those years professor Abdurauf Fitrat, Abdurahmon Sa’di, Sadriddin Ayni, Vohid Abdullaev collected models of Uzbek Literature prepared them for publishing. These great scholars have a great share in preparing qualified specialists and in development of science.

Academician Vohid Abdullaev did many scientific researches about Alisher Navoi and his contemporaries creations. I this case many works such as monograph “Navoi in Samarkand”, textbook “Hisory of Uzbek Literature” and literary – critical works in “Saylanma” were published.

It is important to underline a great share of the member of the academy of Science in Uzbekistan professor Botuhon Valihodjaev in studying and publicity our classic literature. Scientist’s many important works were published in such foreign countries as Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey. It shows that faculty’s scientific capability is admitted in the world scale. Also, professor Rahmonkul Orzibekov, Sh.Holmatov, I.Mirzaev, H.Umurov, D.Salohiy, ShHasanov’s scientific researches must be especially defined.

 Future plans of the faculty

            Based on traditions of the faculty, preparing linguists, journalists and literary critics is taken into special consideration. There are several plans such as opening the doctor’s department on the specialty of Uzbek Literature, admitting students to the masters department on the specialty of television, radio broadcasting, translation, publishing, forming and opening little telestudio and several laboratories. Besides, we have some plans of forming and opening a new specialized Council for defense of such degrees as Candidate of Science and Doctor of Science; Higher Attestation Commission at the Cabinet of ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Educational – methodical activity of the faculty

            Students of the faculty have all conditions to study. There is a modern computer classroom with ten computer sets with Internet network. Students get educational – methodical complexes, textbooks and their electron variants of all subjects. Professor teachers prepared 14 textbooks, 5 monographs, 11 teaching aids, 11 methodical devices and lectures, 5 articles. All subjects are prepared with electron variants. Professors and teachers articles are regularly published in central scientific journals.

 Achievements of professor – teachers, students of the faculty

            Nowadays the University has close relations with several Universities and scientific centers in the USA, Germany England, South Korea, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Tajikistan.

            Students of the faculty take an active part in annually Science Olympiads and get medals.

            There are 3 circles and creative club “Shalola” in the faculty.

            Teachers worked with 29 capable Students in 2011. 25 students’ scientific articles were published Under the name “First steps” Collections of Scientific articles under the names “Billows of independence”, “Problems of language and literature”, “Philology are published annually in the faculty” collections consist of articles written by students, masters, post graduates and doctors; … and stories by creative students.

 Scientific – research sphere of the faculty

            Researches au the sphere of linguistics in the faculty have experience and traditions of many years. Its first researches are E.D.Polivanov, gozi Olim Yunusov, Ulug Tursunov. They worked hard he way of developing of the subject if linguistics, proved scientifically Uzbek languages richness and perfectness. These scientists’ research works such as classification of Uzbek dialects, their place in development of Uzbek literary language, word-forming in Uzbek language, its relations with other languages are still actual. E.D. Polivanov and Gozi Olim Yunusov’s works: “Uzbek dialectology and Uzbek literary Language”, “Vocalism in Samarkand dialect”, “Kazakh nayman dialect”, “… and their language” have its own place in our linguistcs.

            In 1950-1960 years linguistics researches are carried under the leading of professor, honored man of science of Uzbekistan Ulug Tursunov.

            Scientist more than 40 pupils such as Hamdam Berdiyorov, Abdujabbor Muhtorov, Abdulla Sulaymonov, Gani Abdurahmonov, Hudoyberdi Doniyorov, Rahmatulla Kungurov, Nazar Rajabov, Bozorboy Urinboyev, Huraboy Hamdamov, Suyun Karimov, Bekmurod Yuldoshev, Tohir Hujaev, Nosir Abdurahmonov also worked on the problems of dialectology, grammar, history of the language, methodics, general linguistics. At the result on the basis of their researches several textbooks and methodical aids “Modern Uzbekliterary language”, “History of Uzbek literary language”, “Stylistics of Uzbek language”, “Old Turkish language”, “General linguistics”, “Speech culture and methodics”, “Linguistic analysis of belles-lettres”, “Uzbek dialectology”, “Functional styles of Uzbek language”, “Stylistics of artistic speech” were prepared and published.

            Community of the faculty of Uzbek philology work over four main Themes – “Alisher Navoi, tradition in Uzbek classic Literature and problems of peculiarity” (leader: Can Ds.S.D.Salohiy), “Variety of genres in modern Uzbek literature and poetics” (leader: prof.H.Umarov), “Uzbek language (synchronic and diachronic)” (leader: prof. A.Abdusaidov), “Linguistics of the text and problems of poetics” (leader: prof. I.Mirzaev) which are planned to 5 years …. In 2011-2015 years.

4 Candidate’s 2 Doctor’s dissertations are defended in the faculty in 2011.

The defense of Candidate’s dissertation is held in two speciality in the faculty. Every year more than 100 bachelors and 20 masters graduate from the University.

There is necessary atmosphere and scientific capability to do the tasks of the Ministry f Higher Education and University.
